![]() ![]() sergeant_zane's cosplay nails the disturbing nature of one of Batman's most underrated foes. In Batman: The Widening Gyre, Onomatopoeia infiltrated the Batcave after gaining Bruce Wayne's trust, allowing the killer to slash the throat of Bruce's girlfriend, Silver St. In addition to nearly killing Green Arrow Connor Hawke, Onomatopoeia is one of the few villains to get the drop on Batman. ![]() But the truth is, he's one of the most effective street-level killers in the DC Universe. Onomatopoeia's tendency to mimic comic book sound effects might make him seem goofy at first. ![]() The cosplay really does justice to how intimidating and scary the killer is. ![]() And in the most frightening of the set, Onomatopoeia has opened a car door and is reaching out to grab the viewer by force. In another post, the villain is brandishing a gun and looking down at the view, with his finger on the trigger. However, this trust ultimately proved catastrophic when they turned traitor and murdered one. In one post, the Onomatopoeia wields a large knife that's dripping with blood. During the 2009 six-issue storyline Batman: The Widening Gyre (by Kevin Smith, Walt Flanagan, Art Lyon and Art Thibert), the Caped made a new addition to the Bat-Family who quickly rose to become one of the crime fighting team's most dependable members. Shiny spikes cover sergeant_zane's entire head, with a few painted black to illustrate the target on Onomatopoeia's mask. The cosplayer keeps Onomatopoeia's all-black costume, but the mask is given an insidious twist. On Instagram, cosplay artist sergeant_zane posted several pictures of themselves dressed up as the serial killer with a truly terrifying upgrade. The iconic mask-hunter may not be the most frequently seen villain in the DC Universe, but one amazing cosplay has given Onomatopoeia a terrifying makeover. ![]()
